Experience a playfulness you have never seen before: A first-ever showing of the Swedish Kompani Giraff at Jatka78 in Prague! The boundless imagination of the two circus artists is bound to entertain everyone aged 6 to 99.
With great charm and precision, the two circus artists Filip Zahradnicky from Cirk La Putyka and Clémence de Felice bring their audience on a journey into an unknown landscape where acrobatics, juggling, balancing acts, inventions and experiments are brought into motion.
The Goldberg variations by Kompani Giraff refers to both the symmetrical piece of music by Johann Sebastian Bach and to the cartoonist Rube Goldberg, who is known for his drawings of incredibly complex, chaotic machines made out of everyday objects.
The performance is a play with chain reactions and how our own, allegedly simple actions are interconnected and affect each other. The circus edition of the Goldberg variations is a subtly clever, magical and visually dense tale without words. The sounds are created on stage with self-built, automated musical instruments.
After the show starts an audience conversation, where the spectators can ask questions, but then it turns seamlessly into a movement workshop with finger exercises and magic tricks with the body where everyone in the audience participates from their seats.
Why Kompani Giraff?
The creatives from Kompani Giraff are circus performer Viktoria Dalborg, decided to carry on the legacy and formed Kompani Giraff. She was joined by visionary magician Axel Adlercreutz and high fashion designer Sus Soddu. The three artistic directors, together with their hand picked ensemble, create shows with the unique flavor of visual elegance, fluid magic and intelligent choreography which the company is known for today.
The performance is realized with the support of the Swedish Embassy in Prague.
